QOC Participates in Executive Board Meeting of GCC Olympic Committees Presidents’ Council

The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) took part in the executive board meeting of the GCC Olympic Committees Presidents’ Council, held recently to enhance regional cooperation and further the development of sports across the Gulf region.

The meeting, which brought together top sports officials from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, focused on strengthening collaboration among the national Olympic committees and aligning strategic plans to support athletes, sports federations, and joint initiatives. Discussions also included preparations for upcoming regional competitions and the implementation of unified programs that promote Olympic values and youth participation in sports.

Representing Qatar, QOC Secretary-General Jassim Rashid Al-Buenain reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to fostering regional unity through sports and shared development goals. He highlighted Qatar’s continuous support for Gulf-wide sporting events and its initiatives aimed at nurturing talent and promoting excellence across various disciplines.

The executive board also reviewed the progress of ongoing projects, including preparations for upcoming editions of the GCC Games and other collaborative events designed to elevate the profile of Gulf athletes on the international stage.

The QOC’s participation in this high-level meeting underscores its strategic role in advancing sports diplomacy and reinforcing Qatar’s position as a leading hub for athletic excellence in the region.
