The new official emblem of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™ has been unveiled, showcasing a bold and clever design of the coveted trophy.
Qatar will host 104 matches from 3 to 27 November 2025, featuring 48 qualified teams.
Excitement is building around a tournament that has seen the rise of football stars such as Luís Figo, Ronaldinho, Xavi, Neymar, and Phil Foden.
A modern and dynamic emblem for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™ has been revealed ahead of the first-ever edition of the tournament to feature 48 teams, set to take place in November 2025.
The new emblem cleverly incorporates the coveted trophy as a negative space within the letter “U” in “U-17”, creating a bold silhouette that also represents a beam of light — the primary symbol of the tournament’s new identity.
The result is a visually compelling mark that honors the legacy of the FIFA U-17 World Cup while also looking forward to the future of the game. FIFA and the host country aim to spotlight the rising players who are at the heart of this story.
Layers of warm, overlapping colors radiate outward, representing the global reach, inclusivity, and dynamism of football. It also emphasizes the discovery and development of young talent. Depicted as a beacon, the emblem embodies the energy and ambition of the players, celebrates their journey from local pitches to the world stage, and inspires fans with the promise of future stars.
His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Sports and Youth and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, said:
“We are pleased to launch the emblem for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will mark an important milestone in Qatar’s football calendar over the next five years. Since the start of this decade, Qatar has hosted outstanding football tournaments at regional, continental, and global levels. The FIFA U-17 World Cup continues our efforts to support football development and reflects our commitment to nurturing future generations of athletes.”
He added:
“We look forward to welcoming the youth national teams to the first edition of the tournament featuring 48 teams. We hope that the world-class facilities in Qatar will offer them an inspiring glimpse into the future of their football careers.”
FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said:
“The FIFA U-17 World Cup has proven to be a vital launchpad for the next generation of the world’s best young footballers, showcasing exceptional skill and dedication.”
He added:
“The new official emblem underlines the spirit of teamwork, youth boldness, distinctive power, and optimism — all qualities that will be strongly present in November 2025. Qatar’s proven ability to host FIFA events, along with its world-class infrastructure and warm hospitality, will provide the perfect stage for this historic tournament.”
All 48 teams have already qualified for the largest-ever edition of this prestigious youth tournament, which has seen the emergence of stars such as Luís Figo, Francesco Totti, Ronaldinho, Xavi, Andrés Iniesta, Neymar, and Phil Foden.
A completely new tournament format will be introduced, with Germany aiming to defend the title they won at the 2023 edition in Indonesia, where they beat France in a dramatic final via penalty shootout.
