H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Senior Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), held a series of high-level meetings on the sidelines of the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.
Sheikh Joaan met separately with H.R.H. Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, President of the Bhutan Olympic Committee and IOC Member; Seungmin Ryu, President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC); and Gordon Tang Yigang, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia.
Discussions focused on enhancing sports cooperation between the QOC and its counterparts in Bhutan, South Korea, and Cambodia. Key topics included talent development, athlete support, and the exchange of technical and administrative expertise. Preparations for major upcoming events—Asian Games Nagoya 2026, Doha 2030, and the 2029 Asian Youth Games in Cambodia—were also reviewed.
The meetings are part of Sheikh Joaan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties with Olympic Movement leaders across Asia, fostering collaboration and driving the growth of sport at both regional and international levels.
