Khalil Ibrahim Al-Jabir, Executive Director of the Qatar Olympic Academy and former President of the Qatar Swimming Association (QSA), has been re-elected as a Bureau Member of World Aquatics for the 2025–2029 term. The announcement was made during the World Aquatics General Congress, held alongside the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

Al-Jabir, a respected figure in Qatari and Asian aquatic sports, served as QSA President from 2008 to 2024 and has been actively involved with World Aquatics since 2017. In 2021, he was selected at the Doha General Assembly as one of the representatives of host nations for the World Championships—a role that further elevated Qatar’s standing in the sport.

His re-election marks yet another milestone in a career dedicated to the growth of aquatic sports globally. In addition to his role with World Aquatics, Al-Jabir currently serves as Vice President of the Asian Aquatics Federation for the 2024–2029 cycle, a position he earned at the 2024 General Assembly in Bangkok.

QSA President Mubarak bin Ali Al-Nuaimi attended the Congress in Singapore, reaffirming Qatar’s commitment to maintaining a strong presence in international aquatic governance. On behalf of the QSA, Al-Nuaimi congratulated Al-Jabir on his achievement and praised his ability to represent Qatar with distinction on the world stage.

The Congress also included the election of the World Aquatics Board of Directors for the 2025–2029 term, selecting a new leadership team to guide the sport through its next chapter.
