Team Qatar will mark a historic milestone in June by competing for the first time in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, signalling a significant step forward for Qatari motorsport on the global endurance racing stage.

Staged annually at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe, the 24-hour contest is widely regarded as one of the most demanding and celebrated events in world motorsport. The 2026 edition, scheduled for 13–14 June, will once again assemble leading manufacturers and elite teams from across the globe.

Team Qatar will compete in partnership with the renowned Italian outfit Iron Lynx, combining established endurance expertise with Qatar’s growing ambitions in top-tier circuit racing.

First held in 1923, Le Mans remains the world’s oldest active endurance race and forms part of motorsport’s coveted Triple Crown. Over more than a century, it has become a benchmark for technological innovation, reliability and human endurance, attracting many of the sport’s most iconic manufacturers and drivers.

A landmark step for Qatari motorsport

Participation at Le Mans represents more than an entry on the grid — it underscores Qatar’s strategic expansion into elite international motorsport. Competing in endurance racing’s ultimate test demands precision, resilience and technical excellence, qualities aligned with the nation’s long-term development vision.

The collaboration with Iron Lynx reflects a focused and professional approach aimed at ensuring a competitive and credible debut on one of racing’s most revered stages.

Abdulrahman bin Abdulatif Al Mannai, President of the Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation and Lusail International Circuit, said: “We are proud to announce Qatar Team’s participation in the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans — a landmark moment that reflects our strategic commitment to international motorsport and strengthening Qatar’s presence on the global racing stage.

“Competing at Le Mans is both an honour and a responsibility. Our team has prepared extensively, and we are confident in their professionalism, technical capability and determination to represent Qatar with excellence.

“This participation extends beyond competition. It is part of our long-term vision to create pathways for drivers and engineers, while inspiring the next generation of Qatari motorsport professionals.”

The 2026 race is expected to feature one of the most competitive endurance grids in recent years. For Team Qatar, the debut signals not merely participation, but the beginning of a new chapter in the nation’s international motorsport ambitions. Details regarding the driver line-up, car category and official presentation will be announced in due course.
