The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and Lusail International Circuit (LIC) have announced that the MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar 2026, originally scheduled for April 10–12, has been postponed and will now take place from November 6–8, 2026.
Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai, President of QMMF and LIC, stated:
“The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation and Lusail International Circuit fully respect and support the decision of the MotoGP Sport and Entertainment Group to postpone this year’s Grand Prix to November 6–8. We sincerely thank our fans, teams, and partners for their understanding and continued support, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Lusail International Circuit.”
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP, added:
“This decision was made with great care and in full coordination with our partners in Qatar and throughout the paddock. Our top priorities remain the safety and well-being of everyone involved in MotoGP and ensuring that every Grand Prix meets the highest standards. We also recognise the importance of providing clarity for our fans, who will be able to roll over their tickets to the rescheduled event.”
The event will once again bring the world’s premier motorcycle racing championship to Lusail International Circuit, reaffirming Qatar’s long-standing presence on the MotoGP calendar. Since hosting its first MotoGP round in 2004, Lusail has become one of the most distinctive venues in the sport—home to the first-ever night race in 2008 and celebrated as an iconic stage in global motorcycle racing.
