Muaither secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Etihad Al Gharafa with a stoppage-time winner in Week 3 of the 2026-2027 Jetour League at Lusail Stadium on Monday.
Spanish player Marc Marruecos was the hero for Muaither, scoring the decisive goal in the fourth minute of added time to seal his side’s second victory of the campaign.
With the match seemingly heading for a goalless draw, Marruecos battled through three Etihad Al Gharafa defenders to win possession inside the danger area before firing a low effort into the left corner of the net.
Etihad Al Gharafa had appeared to break the deadlock in the 78th minute when Amjed Mohamed found the back of the net. However, the goal was ruled out following a VAR review after Nawaf Hussein was adjudged to have handled the ball in the build-up.
Muaither held on through the remaining minutes before Marruecos delivered the decisive moment deep into stoppage time.
The victory lifted Muaither to six points from their opening three matches, while Etihad Al Gharafa remained on one point.
