Sheikh Joaan Leads Inspection at Lusail Sports Hall
President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, conducted an official visit to Lusail Sports Hall on Thursday to review final preparations for the upcoming World Table Tennis Championships Doha 2025, scheduled to take place from May 17 to 25.
Accompanying Sheikh Joaan during the tour was Khalil Ahmed Al Mohannadi, President of the Qatar, Arab, and Asian Table Tennis Federations, and First Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation. Members of the tournament’s organizing committee were also present for the inspection.
The Lusail Sports Hall, which boasts a capacity of 20,000 spectators, has been designated as the main venue for the championship. It will host both the opening ceremony and all competition matches. The venue is no stranger to global sporting events, having previously hosted the 2015 World Handball Championship.
This year's table tennis championships will feature 640 players, including:
256 athletes in singles competition
256 competitors across men’s and women’s doubles
128 participants in mixed doubles
The event further solidifies Qatar’s position as a premier destination for major international sporting events.
