Al Shamal produced a dominant display to secure a convincing 5-0 victory over Al Sailiya in Week 9 of the 2026-2027 Doha Bank Stars League at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium on Saturday.
Al Shamal controlled proceedings from the opening whistle, putting their opponents under constant pressure and finding the back of the net at regular intervals. Their attacking dominance saw them establish a comfortable 2-0 lead by half-time.
Wesley Said opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Riyad Mahrez doubled Al Shamal's advantage in the 40th minute, giving the team a strong platform heading into the break.
Al Shamal continued their impressive performance after the restart, with Tiago Silva extending the lead just two minutes into the second half in the 47th minute.
The home side maintained their attacking momentum, and Moufak Awad made it 4-0 in the 61st minute. Baghdad Bounedjah then completed the emphatic victory four minutes later, scoring Al Shamal's fifth goal in the 65th minute.
The comprehensive win marked Al Shamal's third victory of the league campaign, taking their points tally to 12 and providing a significant boost to their position in the standings.
For Al Sailiya, however, it was another disappointing outing as they remained on one point after suffering their eighth defeat of the season.
Al Shamal will take plenty of confidence from the commanding performance, while Al Sailiya face the challenge of regrouping and finding a way to turn their fortunes around in the coming fixtures.
